This Winter at Loloma

Let the Historic Loloma Lodge be home base for your winter adventures!

The Willamette Valley and Central Oregon draw in crowds by the millions each year (no - that isn’t a typo!), and not just in one season. While the summer is certainly prime time for outdoor enthusiasts, a plethora of both outdoor and winter adventures await the traveler who appreciates the quieter hike; who yearns for the snow-packed mountains, whether they inspire your inner trailblazer, or simply offer an excuse to curl up by the fire with a good novel. Lucky for you, the historic Loloma Lodge is smack dab in the middle of all of it. Whether your day’s mission is to break a personal record on the ski mountain or to drink the best wine you’ve had in your entire life, Loloma serves as the home away from home, your personal paradise, the place you want to begin and end your day. With Loloma as your home base, you can travel an hour or less in any direction to find new and exciting experiences to suit any age or interest. Here’s our top 9 (links in photos):

1 | Snowsports

Skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and more! A winter trip to Central Oregon isn’t complete without a day (or two) spent at Hoodoo Ski Area or Mt. Bachelor.

Hoodoo is a local favorite - known for being the “Steeper, Deeper, and Cheaper” little brother to Mt. Bachelor. An adventure-filled day with friends and family lies only 35 minutes away from the Loloma property. Hoodoo also offers the only night skiing in Central Oregon. If you aren’t convinced yet, or you don’t know how you feel about snow sports, try Hoodoo’s 1, 2, 3, & Rent for Free lessons:

“This package includes three, two-hour group lessons with lift tickets and rentals included for $149. The first lesson includes an Easy Rider lift ticket, and the second and third lessons include an all-mountain lift ticket. After completing all three lessons, participants will be rewarded with a certificate for FREE RENTALS the rest of the ski season. Ages 7+, beginners only. Available starting Jan. 8, 2018.”

Similarly, Mt. Bachelor offers the “Ski or Ride in 5” program.

“SKI OR RIDE IN 5℠ is an award-winning lesson program designed for those "never-evers" who have not had previous experiences trying to learn to ski or snowboard. The SKI OR RIDE IN 5℠ program offers candidates who are committed to becoming a skier or snowboarder this year by committing to a 5 lesson program with instruction by one of Mt. Bachelor's hand-picked instructors based on their communication skills and overall success rate of coaching beginners. Included in lessons is a ski or snowboard rental and daily lift ticket.”

Upon completion of the 5 courses, participants receive a free 12-day pass for the remainder of the season as well as discounted season passes for the next two seasons.
